#21240 How to post pictures in your threads

Posted by WarChild on 01 May 2013 - 03:55 PM

A quick tutorial on how to post a picture in your thread.

First, you'll need to upload your picture to an online image hosting site. I usually use http://postimage.org/ . Other options include, but are not limited to, Photobucket, Imageshack and Tinypic.

Using Postimage for this example:

Next, you'll see the following screen:

Done! This will create a small thumbnail like below. Then someone can click on it to enlarge it to view the full size image. This helps pages load faster for everyone by frontloading smaller images yet still having access to full resolution for greater detail.

#1965 sig size

#151 Reputation function

Posted by Ishbu on 21 July 2010 - 06:23 PM

yea.. i took notice of this really cool feature of the reputation function and Post rating

Reputation Function

its affected with hoe many people rate you on your profile with a 1-5 star rating
1.click users name
2. look at upper right of their profile page thats says "User Rating"
3. you will see a faded gray line of stars (if you haven't been rated yet) or a gold highlighted line of stars
4. click on the desired rating on how you want to rate them

Seems like a nice function to use for when people help someone out with a question, tech problems and such. So i thought to make use to notify everyone on this function to make use of it...
Enjoy.... but be sure not to give bad ratings for no reason.. nobody likes that

Post Rating + and - (affects Reputation)
Down at the bottom right of someones post. you will see a number and a + and - picture. obviously if they made a good post give them a + or a - if they said something bad or something like that

Overall
Only the post rating affects your rep. the star rating is just on how people rate you..
You can also scroll down to the bottom of any page and click "Overall Posters" from there yo can view the people with most posts AND their rep. and rating
Thanks for reading!

#9421 Benefit game

Posted by firefighter78 on 09 July 2011 - 10:54 PM

Hello...I was wondering if the war zone staff and players alike could hold or promote a benefit game for the family who lost a local solider at Six Flag's the other night. It happened around 5:30 pm when SGT .Jame's Hackemmer age 29 who was in the army, lived in western NY. The SGT was spending the day with family at the park he was riding the Superman when he fell out . SGT. Hackermmer was in rehab for nearly 3 years. The story can be found on WIVB 's web site such a sad sad story. I was thinking a OP or somthing in the like. I thinking up a name like OP Bring Home or Restore Hope. Please leave any information or ideas. I know the making up a OP dose not happen over night and takes alot of planning and time again this is just a idea to help out a family who lost a loved one. Bellow are some links and more info on The SGT. life and long road to recovery

#19117 The War Zone open play skirmish: Sunday, 9/9/12

Posted by teufelhunden on 09 September 2012 - 10:24 PM

The below is from the warzone Ruleset;

Conduct:
1) Airsoft is a game of honor. Call your own hits! Cheaters will be permanently ejected!
2) Do not call opposing team players out. If you truly feel you have hit someone who did not call out, mention it to a referee who will look into the situation. Please identify the player by backtag number for proper ID.

Had a blast today but ended on a sour note. This rule I know and live by, but violated today. I apparently played through a hit. Not intentionally mind you, but did none the less. It was apparently an equipment i.e. chest rig and or dump pouch hit.....which I did not feel and continued to play on. I understand this to be extremely frustrating to the shooter....I apologize. I was called on it and responded and halted when it became a heated issue. A rant ensued from both....now at this point we're both blatant violaters of the above ruleset. I just ask the shooter to ask himself, did I really think I was going to intentionally play through a hit 2 feet from a dead enemy and on top of that facing ...25-30' away.. 5-6 more enemy? Really? Benifit of the doubt. And did I not cease once called out even after believing not to be hit? And then called a cheater? Thats what ignighted the rant......again, I too was out of line and I apologize. Before I departed I gave the shooter my tag number to follow up. Again I'm not saying I never played through....that was proven today and I'm sure EVERYONE has....due to the gear we wear, but handle it diplomaticaly before you lunge into the " Cheater " crusade.

#15324 Customer appreciation bonuses

Posted by Shadow on 22 February 2012 - 08:48 AM

While it's amazingly generous of you guys to do this for all of us, I can't help but feel as if the thank you is aimed in the wrong direction. I would personally like to thank all of you at The War Store and The War Zone for being an awesome bunch of people. From personal experience, I can say that whenever I've needed help with my AEG, needed a part, accessory, or some other product, or just someone to bounce ideas off of for new gun builds or loadout ideas, one of you has always been there. Kevin has fixed many an AEG for me, and even lent his G&G Raider to me when my gun wasn't working, Frank fixed my KWA for me and spent 4 hours of his time machining rails onto my new AK-74U for me, and Todd has been there with suggestions, ideas, and helpful knowledge seemingly anytime that I asked for it. Hell, he even taught me how to wrap my shemagh on Sunday because I didn't know how to... The bottom line is that you guys are the ones who really deserve the thank you; you run an awesome store, an incredible field, and you're generally just a great group of people to be around and associate with. I'd tip my hat to you guys if I was wearing one, haha! Thanks for making local airsoft possible and enjoyable, guys. :)

#106 Joining Buffalo Airsoft

Posted by WarChild on 20 July 2010 - 02:37 PM

Buffalo Airsoft is a terrific community of airsoft enthusiasts who welcome players from anywhere in the world to join. It's free and it's easy! We hope you enjoy your stay with us, and find it to be a valuable resource for information and a place to make many new friends.

We ask but a few things of our members:

1) You WILL follow all of the grammatical rules of the English language. This means capitalization, punctuation and correct spelling! "Text talk", "Leet speak", and AIM-style chat talk will NOT be tolerated. If you cannot communicate in an intelligent written fashion, your stay here will be very short indeed.

2) Participate! We want this to be a engaged and vibrant forum. Members who simply "lurk" and never post will be pruned from the membership roster.

3) Fill out your profile in its entirety. We all want to know who you are and where you are from. We all want to be friends here, both on and off the field. Knowing a little about each person makes that process much easier, and helps others connect will those who live near them or share the same interests. Put a picture of yourself in your profile, too, so we can all put a name and face together when we go to games.

4) Please choose a unique, interesting and pronounceable forum name. When you attend an airsoft game, your forum name or callsign should be something which can be shouted out loud or called out on a radio to communicate with you. Keep numbers and bizarre characters in your name to an absolute minimum, if at all.

When you're in the foxhole next to me, and I need your help or want to warn you of danger, I want to be able to yell out "Fireball, contact left!", for example. No one wants to have to decipher or remember "<KlanL33T>iAmB3st0rZGunnA449328" or some similar ridiculous nonsense like that.

5) Keep it clean. Many of our members are minors. Let's keep this place family-friendly with minimal vulgarity. Signature and avatar pictures must not contain sexual or profane imagery.

6) No discussions about politics or religion. Period.

Thanks for joining and being a part of our forum!
